AUTOMATED LUBRICATION SYSTEMS
Automated, or automatic lubrication systems as some call them, supply a small amount of lubricant to specific points on a machine on a continuous basis. The volumes dispensed are determined by several factors, some of which are:
Speed is another critical application because too much lubricant can cause viscous drag which generates heat, causes expansion and wear, which causes more heat, more expansion and more wear to the point of failure. Sixty percent of all bearing failures are directly caused by too much lubricant being applied. In other applications, providing too much lubricant can cause seals to be pushed out and allow debris and water in with damaging results. Chains are a vital and, in some cases, expensive component that create challenges to get the lubricant to where it needs to be - on the inside. The outside of the chain generally does not need the lubricant; the lubricant needs to be where metal to metal contact is, in the pins and bushings and between the bushings and sprockets. Industrial Autolube International has come up with solutions to many of these problems that not only apply the lubricant where it is required, but does so where waste is virtually eliminated. Our solutions have cut consumption by as much as 95%.
